Contrariamente a lo que pueda parecer, los '12 días de Navidad' históricamente no se refería a los días previos a la Navidad, sino a los doce días siguientes.

El período comienza con el nacimiento de Cristo el 25 de diciembre, día de Navidad, y termina con la llegada de los Reyes Magos el 6 de enero, día de la Epifanía o Día de los Reyes Magos.
